How to Work the Fields With a Cultivator

With a cultivator, you can aerate and conserve topsoil, and usually, a field can be prepared in two passes. So hook up your cultivator to your ATV or tractor and you will be ready to work your field in an efficient and effective manner.

• ATV or tractor

Instructions

1. Attach the cultivator to your tractor or ATV. How you do this will depend on your specific cultivator and ATV or tractor. You should be able to find a fairly simple explaination in your owner's manual.

2. Drive your ATV or tractor over the fields, dragging the cultivator behind you. Cover the entire field by driving in either horizontal or vertical lines.

3. Cover the entire field again in the same pattern. This will ensure that the soil is cultivated fully and properly.
