How to Reboot a System for Backup & the Recovery Manager
The HP Backup & Recovery Manager is preinstalled on your HP computer to enable you to repair your computer without having to turn to expensive repair services or technical support. You can use the HP Backup And Recovery Manager to restore your operating system to the factory operating condition in the event you experience a hard drive error, system crash or debilitating malware infection. In order for the utility to perform its function, you must reboot your system into the recovery environment.

Click the "Start" button and type "recovery" into the "Start Search" field.

Click the "HP Backup & Recovery Manager" that appears.

Click the "Next" button in the window that opens and click the "System Recovery" option under the "I Need Help Immediately" category. The computer will automatically reboot into the recovery environment and reopen the Backup & Recovery Manager.
