How to Locate an Inmate in Kentucky

If your friend or family member was recently arrested you may be interested in locating them to visit or otherwise make contact. Alternatively, you may be the victim of a crime and wish to be assured that the criminal is behind bars. In Kentucky, the Department of Corrections operates 13 prisons that hold adult inmates. The department also contracts with two other private correctional facilities for adults. Locating an inmate in Kentucky takes only a few brief steps on the Internet.

      Click on the link in the column on the right portion of the page for the county where the inmate is held, if known. For example, if the inmate is held in Allen County click the "Click Here" link below "Allen County." If the county where the inmate is held is unknown, click on the link for each county until the inmate is found.

      Enter the first and last name of the inmate in the blank text boxes on the following page. Click "Search" to find the inmate. Click on the inmate's name to pull up the inmate profile, including a picture.
