How to Connect 25 Volt Speakers to a Computer
Connecting 25-volt speakers to a computer requires the use of an amplifier to provide the additional power needed by the speakers. Since most computer speaker connections are 3.5-mm jacks, the amplifier needs a 3.5-mm to 1/4-inch connector cable to connect the amplifier and the computer together. Then it's a matter of connecting the 25-volt speakers to the amplifier. Research the best amplifier that will be compatible with your computer system.
Things You'll Need
- 3.5-mm to 1/4-inch connector cable
- 25-volt two-channel speaker amplifier
- 2 speakers, 25-volt

1
Plug the 3.5-mm end of the 3.5-mm to 1/4-inch connector cable into the speaker jack on the back of the computer. Plug the 1/4-inch end of the connector cable into the 1/4-inch input jack on the amplifier. Set the volume on the computer to about 30 percent of its maximum power.

2
Plug the wires of speaker No. 1 into the output jack of channel 1 on the amplifier. The speakers usually use 1/4-inch speaker jacks for connecting speakers to amplifiers. Repeat the step for speaker No. 2, but connect it to channel 2 of the amplifier.

Plug in the amplifier and turn it on. Increase the volume of the amplifier and listen for sound distortions. If you hear distortions, such as popping or crackling, raise or lower the input signal by changing the computer volume. Adjust the volume until you achieve the best sound quality.
