DIY Corsage
Corsages give you the ability to add enhancements to your wardrobe whether it be formal or casual. Most commonly, fresh floral corsages offer prom-wear and other formal outfits an extra touch of femininity. Making your own corsage from scratch, however, doesn't have to include fresh florals. A corsage is your one-of-a-kind creation that allows you to experiment with a wide range of materials from artificial flowers and fabrics to gems and other embellishments. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Artificial flower
- Silk ribbon roll
- Scissors
- Fabric glue
- Needle-nose pliers
- Loose sequins

Select an artificial flower that corresponds with the theme you are wanting to achieve. Artificial flowers vary immensely in color, texture, size and variety. Snip the stem from the artificial flower, leaving only the blossom. This step can also be a money-saver if you happen to have arrangements containing silk flowers around your home from which to obtain the floral piece.

Cut a length of silk ribbon measuring 12 inches. Choose a wide gauge of ribbon of between 1/2-inch and 2 inches in width.

Spread the ribbon out vertically, making sure it is completely straight. Squeeze a 12 tiny dots of glue along the center of the ribbon, spaced 1 inch apart.

Squeeze a dot of fabric glue onto the underside of the cut blossom. Attach the glued side of the blossom to the very center of the length of ribbon. Hold it there firmly for 10 seconds and release.

Affix a single sequin over each tack spot of glue up the center of the ribbon. Use the needle-nose pliers to attach each sequin. Let the corsage dry for 10 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
Tie the corsage around your wrist into a bow with the floral part at the top of your wrist. Alternatively, you can tie the ribbon into a bow and then pin the corsage to the front of your outfit.
