How to Remove MSN Winks
MSN Winks are animated emoticons or smileys, complete with audio, that are used in MSN Live Messenger. Winks allow users to convey a variety of emotions. While Winks are fun and add emphasis to messages sent via instant message, installing too many of them can bog down your system and cause MSN Messenger to freeze up or stop working. Removing Winks will solve this problem and, with the right tool, is a simple process.

Remove Winks Individually

Open MSN Live Messenger.

Click once on the Wink you want to remove.

Click "Remove" on the right-hand side of the Messenger box. This will delete the Wink.

Repeat the process for all Winks that you want to remove.

Download MSN Winks Uninstaller 1.0. This is free software and is available on numerous websites such as softwaregeek.com, download3000.com and softpedia.com. If your system has gotten so slow that you are unable to remove Winks individually, this is your best option.

Tips & Warnings
Winks do not usually cause a problem when they are installed in moderation. The problem develops when too many Winks are added. Stick to a handful of your favorite Winks and you should be fine.
