How to Send and Receive a Fax Using VoIP Cisco
VOIP is an acronym that stands for "voice over Internet protocol." Residential VOIP arrangements usually use public Internet networks. Businesses that use VOIP typically have dedicated Internet systems in place to handle calls. This is a more secure system. You can program Cisco VOIP systems to send and receive faxes.
Instructions

1
Create a new extension by selecting "Device," "Phone," "Add New Phone."
-
2
Create a dummy MAC address and insert it into the MAC field. The MAC address has 12 characters.
-
-
3
Go to the "Button" template field. Choose the "30 VIP" handset. Establish fake extensions. Make them sequential. This forces the system to make VOIP calls.
-
4
Choose the first line appearance on your screen. Enter the dummy number. Enter a "Forward All" number from the FXS destination pattern. This is individual to each Cisco group. Check your user manual to find your unique set of numbers.
-
5
Access the route plan menu. Choose "Route Pattern" from the menu, followed by "Add a New Pattern."
-
6
Return to the dummy extension configuration screen. Add the next line and forward. Insert a new route pattern that matches the call forward number and directs to the H23 gateway. Repeat until all lines are set up.
-
7
Create dial peers for VOIP and telephone servers. Check your owners manual for the specific pattern.
