Cinnamon is a spice derived from the bark of trees in the cinnamomum genus. The spice is common in sweet foods and drinks. However, when added to a drink such as tea, cinnamon will merely sink to the bottom of the cup. According to "The New Age Herbalist," because cinnamon is ground tree bark, it cannot dissolve.       Brew a cup of your favorite tea.

      Fill a tea infuser with 1 tbsp. of ground cinnamon. Alternatively, you can place 1/4 of a stick of cinnamon in the infuser. According to "The Herbalist's Way," cinnamon sticks often have a more desirable flavor and higher potency for infusion than the powder form.

      Place the cinnamon-filled infuser into your cup of tea.

      Allow the tea to steep with the cinnamon for five to 10 minutes.

      Remove the tea infuser from the cup and discard the cinnamon inside.
