How to Repair a FPD1975W Monitor

The HP FPD1975W monitor functions like any other computer monitor. In fact, it can be connected to any PC through the standard VGA port available on all computers. To repair an HP FPD1975W monitor, there are many different areas to look at, but it can be fixed without needing a repairman. Read the monitor's owner's manual before repairing the monitor so that you are well-versed in the monitor's mechanics.

Things You'll Need

• Phillips-head screwdriver
• New VGA cable
• New power cable

Instructions

1. Disconnect the monitor's power cable.

2. Locate any kinks or holes in the power and VGA cable. Any holes in these devices makes the cords a fire hazard. They can be replaced. Unscrew the monitor's backplate with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Unscrew the cord from the backplate and replace with a new one.

3. Remove all electronic devices near the monitor because they will cause the monitor to have red and green marks from electronic interference.

Tips & Warnings

• The monitor should kept clean with a lint-free cloth.

• Only use parts designed for the FPD1975W. Other parts will not fit or will cause problems with the monitor.
