Instructions

  1. Scale Won't Turn On

    • 1

Ensure the power cable is firmly connected to the outlet on the back of the scale. Ensure the opposite end is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

    • 2

Hold down the "Power" bar to turn the unit on.

    • 3

Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet, if the unit still doesn't turn on.

    • 4

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew and remove the two screws holding the fuse holder, located on the back of the unit in place. Once the screws are removed, lift the fuse holder from the unit. Lift the old fuse out of the unit and slide the new 120-V microfuse into the holder. Replace the fuse holder, and screw it back into place.

    • 5

Plug the unit back into a working electrical outlet. Hold down the "Power" bar to turn the unit on.

    Not Weighing Correctly

    • 6

Place the scale on a flat, even surface.

    • 7

Place the item to be weighted in the scale. If only the upper display segment illuminates, the item is too heavy to be weighed and exceeds the weight limit.

    • 8

Calibrate the scale if the display shows an obviously incorrect weight. Hold down the "Control" button until the display screen shows "- - - -." When "CAL" is displayed on the screen, place a 1,000-g test or calibration weight on the scale. Remove the scale when the unit displays "1000.0."

Tips & Warnings

  • If after you've tried troubleshooting, the unit still won't turn on, it may be defective and should be professionally repaired or replaced.

  • If the balance displays "ERROR," there is a defect in the balance electronics. Only a Mettler Toledo service representative or other professional can troubleshoot and repair the scale.
