Bedroom Decorating With Purple Accents
Purple is often associated with royalty and luxury, as the color was reserved for the wealthy in its beginning. Different shades of purple can work for different bedrooms, from a couple's bedroom to a baby girl's nursery. The color can also overwhelm a room or get boring after a while if it covers the entire room. Use purple as an accent color, which makes it easy to change if you grow tired of it, and gives you a chance to add brightness to an otherwise neutral room. You can use more than one shade or stick to your favorite. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Paint one wall purple as an accent wall or put up wallpaper with a purple pattern. The wall behind the bed is typically the best wall to use as an accent wall. Painting a single wall purple will make the wall stand out more, emphasizing the purple hue.
-
2
Choose furniture that will stand out against the purple in the room. For example, black stands out against lighter shades of purple well and white contrasts with most shades of purple. Consider painting one or two pieces of furniture purple if you can't paint the walls. For example, your headboard or dresser will make a big impact and can be easily repainted later.

3
Use purple bedding if the walls and furniture are neutral colors. Patterns, such as stripes, flowers, butterflies or zebra print, can include purple and another color in your color scheme, such as pink, ivory or lime green.
-
4
Hang pictures, mirrors or artwork with purple frames or images.
-
5
Accessorize the room with purple items, such as pillows, rugs, curtains, valances, floral arrangements, lamps or a purple chandelier. Limiting the number of purple accessories in the room will emphasize the ones you do use, particularly against a neutral color palette, such as white, cream or black.
