How to Install Maya 8.0
Autodesk Maya is a computer program used to create 3D graphics. With Maya, it is possible to create characters for films or video games, models of products and other types of artwork. Although Maya 8.0 is no longer the current version of the software, you might decide to use it because you are able to find it at a lower cost than the current version, or because it was given to you by a friend. Install Maya 8.0 on your computer to begin creating 3D graphics.

Insert the Maya 8.0 installation disc. After a moment, the installation screen appears.

Click "Install Maya" in the upper-left corner of the window.

Examine the license agreement for Autodesk Maya 8.0. Note that you must scroll to the bottom of the agreement to continue. Click "I accept the terms and conditions," and then click "Next."

Check the "Autodesk Maya 2008" and "Autodesk Maya 2008 Documentation" boxes to install both components, and then click "Next."

Click "Next" when the "Maya 2008 Installation" window appears.

Click the "Full" radio button to install all components of Maya 8.0 on the computer, and then click "Next."

Check the check boxes to indicate whether you want the installation utility to create shortcuts for Maya 8.0 on the desktop and quick launch toolbar, and then click "Next."

Click the "Install" button. The installation utility begins copying Maya 8.0 from the disc to the hard drive.

Click the "Finish" button when the installation process is complete. The installation process for the Maya 8.0 documentation begins.

Click "Next," and then click "Install." The utility copies the Maya 8.0 documentation to the hard drive.

Click "Finish," and then click "Done" to return to the desktop. Double-click the "Autodesk Maya 2008" shortcut to begin using the program.
