How to Make Silk Bridal Bouquets With Gerbera Daisies

Choosing wedding flowers can be a daunting task for brides. The flowers should reflect the bride's style, coordinate with the theme or colors of the wedding and be in season. When you can't find the flowers fresh that you would like to use, or you just simply don't want to deal with them wilting too fast, opt for silk flowers for your bridal bouquet. Many silk flowers look real up close, and silk Gerbera daisies are an option that can be found easily in many colors in your local craft store.

Things You'll Need

• 12 Gerbera daisies, any color
• Wire cutters
• Floral wire
• Floral tape, green and white
• Salal leaves
• Babies Breath
• 1 1/2-inch thick ribbon in a coordinating color
• Scissors
• Decorative pin

Instructions

1. Gather approximately 12 Gerbera daisies in coordinating colors to create your bouquet. Lay them all out flat and use your wire cutters to cut them down to a length that is comfortable for you to hold.

2. Begin taping them together with floral tape. Tape the first two together and continue to create the bouquet with all 12 flowers, adding them in one at a time. Leave space for the leaves and babies breath. Because you are using silk flowers, the use of floral wire might not be necessary because many already contain floral wire. However, if you need to use it, loop it up through the top of the flower and back down, then tape it so that none of the wire shows through. Use a mirror while you are forming the bouquet to determine the shape.

3. Add the babies breath. Using the floral wire, loop it around the base of the babies breath and back down to itself so that you can easily bend the babies breath into place. Wrap this with the white floral tape since these flowers are naturally white. Place them down into the spaces in the bouquet where filler is needed. Use the green floral tape to secure them to the base, if needed.

4. Add the leaves to the bouquet. Using the floral wire, pierce the bottom portion of the leaf and wrap back down to control the stem of the leaf. Use green floral tape to cover the visible wire. Place the leaves around the outside of the bouquet, and use floral tape to connect it to the bouquet base.

5. Cover the base of the bouquet with ribbon. Starting at the top, wrap the ribbon in a circular motion around the base of the bouquet overlapping itself. Cut the ribbon and secure it to the bouquet base with a decorative pin.

Tips & Warnings

• Try adding bouquet jewelry in your bouquet to make it sparkle, and glue rhinestones down the center of the base.
