Tips & Warnings
Drink the Aloe vera juice in silence and visualize that it is benefiting and healing your body as you drink it. According to Arthritis Today Magazine, "creative visualization can influence psychological states, perception and even everyday reality, enabling you to create a life with less stress and pain." Applying this practice while drinking the Aloe vera juice can help increase its' ability to help you heal.
The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine states that there is not enough scientific evidence to support aloe vera for any other uses besides topical application to burns or in the form of Aloe latex as a laxative (Aloe latex is the dried, green part of the aloe leaf.) According the NCCAM, people with diabetes who use glucose-lowering medication should be cautious if simultaneously taking aloe orally because some studies suggest aloe may lower blood glucose levels. Do not take aloe if you have an intestinal condition such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or obstruction-- aloe latex is a bowel irritant and can aggravate these conditions. High doses of aloe latex have been linked to kidney failure and other serious conditions. Do not take Digoxin (Lanoxin) simultaneously with Aloe Vera Juice. If you have diabetes, monitor blood sugar levels if taking Aloe. Aloe can lower blood sugar, and if you have diabetes and take a medication also used to lower blood sugar, it can become too low.
