How to Fix a Missing Wireless Status Icon
The notification, or systems tray, area in Windows 7 is located on the taskbar on the opposite end from "Start" menu. It shows system icons, such as clock, volume, network and power. In addition, this area shows icons of currently running programs and system notification balloons. The Network icon shows the current connection status, whether it's wireless or not. This icon is enabled by default. However, you can restore it in seconds if it's missing.
