Instructions

    • 1

Create an account with a social networking site such as Facebook, Twitter or Bebo. Search for the name of the person whose address you are looking for. Use whatever information you have, such as an e-mail address or which school he attended, to track him down.

    • 2

Ask a mutual friend. A mutual friend may be able to provide the address you need. Search Facebook or call the friend if you have his phone number to see if he can help locate the address you are looking for.

    • 3

Send an envelope marked "forward service requested" to the last address you have. If the person you are trying to locate has moved within the last 12 months, your letter will be forwarded to the new address. This is free of charge for a first-class letter. If the letter is undeliverable or the person has moved 18 months ago or longer, your letter will be returned to you.

    • 4

Search the phone book. It may sound obvious but this option is often overlooked. This method is better for those with an unusual name as there will not be multiple listings to sort through.

    • 5

Use the White Pages and enter the details you have, such as first and last name or the zip code. If you find the address through the White Pages but want to clarify that you have the right person, cross check the details. Visit the Peoplefinders' website, which will show links to a person's family.

Tips & Warnings

  • The resources used to search for address information are all free. You should not need to pay a company to search for an address. If your friend is young, you are likely to find his address by searching on a social networking site. For older friends who may not be registered on social networking sites, use the more traditional methods.
