Instructions

    • 1

Use the craft knife to cut off the top and bottom of the can, being very careful of all the shape edges.

    • 2

Use the scissors to cut open the aluminum tube you now have. From the top to the bottom, cut off about a sixth of the can to create a flat rectangle.

    • 3

Use the scissors to cut a 1-inch-wide tab about 1/2-inch deep on one of the long sides of the rectangle. Then cut diagonal sections of the inner tab to create a Styrofoam cup-like profile.

    • 4

Fold the sections on either side of the tab to form a handle. Fold the top section down to also be part of the handle. This will give you a handle without sharp edges.

    • 5

Place the pick you have made inside the shackle with the tab pointing down into the hole the shackle goes into. Press down on the handle to force the tab into the hole. This will pop that lock open.
