How to Easily Enlarge Images for Free

Microsoft Paint offers free image enlargements.

Resizing an image changes the dimension, resolution and file size. Microsoft Paint is a Windows application that allows you to edit, change the image size and create pictures on your computer. This program even offers the option to save your new pictures as specific file types, such as JPEG, GIF and PNG.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Paint. Access the "Start" menu, go to the bottom of the "Start" menu, and type "Paint" in the search box. Click the "Paint" icon to open up the program.

2. Upload your picture to Paint. Go to the top of the window, click the "Paint" button, and then click "Open." This will allow you to browse through the pictures in your computer. Select a picture and click "Open." The status bar displays the dimensions and the size of the picture you uploaded.

3. Resize your picture. Go to the menu bar and click "Resize." You can adjust the dimensions of the picture by using percentages or pixels. Enter the new width and height for your picture. The higher the dimensions, the larger the picture will be. Click "Maintain Aspect Ratio" if you do not want the original aspect ratio to change. Click "OK" after entering the dimensions.

4. Save your new picture. Go to the top of the screen, click the "Paint" button, point the cursor to "Save as," and then select the type of picture format you want to save your image. Create a new file name and click "Save."
