Mount or hold the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx when receiving directions.

The Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx is a portable GPS device that is equipped with Garmin's precise and highly sensitive location technology. The device does not require you to use your computer, but a computer connection is capable with a USB connection cable. The GPSMAP 60CSx has portable storage capacity, allowing you to store extra maps and information on a micro SD card.

Instructions

  1. Initializing

      Push down and hold the "Power" button until the device turns on.

      Hold the device in your hand and tilt it upward.

      Read the status messages that appear on the device's screen. The first message should read "Locating Satellites," followed by "Acquiring Satellites." These messages indicate the device is collecting data about your location using satellite signals.

      Push the "Page" button until you see the map page. The map page is a page that displays a map. Your device is now ready to use.

    Setting your Current Location

      Hold the Garmin 60Csx in your hand.

      Push down and hold the "Mark" key, the second button up from the bottom left, until a screen image appears that says "Mark Waypoint." This is the Mark Waypoint page.

      Scroll to "OK" on the screen using the Rocker button, the circle directional button located on the bottom middle of the device.

      Push the "Enter" button, located on the bottom right of the device, to accept the provided default name and symbol for the location.

      Navigate to any information boxes on the screen using the Rocker to change the information of a field whose default settings you do not want to accept.

      Push "Enter," which will open the onscreen keypad.

      Enter the changed information using the onscreen keypad.

    • 12

      Navigate to "OK" using the Rocker, then push the "Enter" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • You must initialize the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx upon its first use.

  • You will not be able to receive satellite signals if you are indoors.
