How to Obtain a Free Credit Report as a Texas Resident

According to the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of South Texas, residents of Texas are eligible, like all U.S. citizens, to obtain a free copy of their credit reports once per year. These free reports are available from each of the major credit reporting agencies: Equifax, Transunion and Experian. Although the ideal place for Texas residents to obtain the report is online, they also also request the form by telephone or mail.
