How to Install a Magnaflow Catalytic Converter
Magnaflow manufactures high-performance catalytic converters designed to look and fit like OEM (original manufacturer equipment) catalytic converters. The catalytic converter neutralizes harmful pollutants that are expelled from your vehicle's exhaust system. Over time, the converter hollows out or stops filtering the pollutants. If this happens, your car will not run properly. Removing the Magnaflow catalytic converter and installing a new one is the only option for repair.

1
Locate the catalytic converter bolted to the exhaust manifold. Inspect the catalytic converter for an oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor looks like a small spark plug with a wire coming out of the top of it. It will be located towards the back of the catalytic converter. If you locate an oxygen sensor, remove it from the catalytic converter with a wrench.

2
Locate the two through bolts that secure the back half of the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe. Place a wrench on the bolt head and a socket on the nut. Turn the nut off the bolt and then pull the bolt away from the catalytic converter. Repeat this with the second bolt.
