How to Get an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
In order to work in a youth-services environment in the state of Arizona, you are required to have an Arizona fingerprint clearance card, either a general fingerprint clearance card or an identity verified print, or IVP, fingerprint clearance card. You should identify which type of card you need before you begin the application process.

1
Apply for the application packet. Everyone in the education field, from student teachers to tutors to substitute teachers, needs the identity verified print, or IVP, fingerprint clearance card. You must be sure to specify that you are requesting an IVP application packet when you call to make your request. For those applicants not in the education field, for example day care providers, group home employees or foster home applicants, your employer may give you the application packet or you may call or fax the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

2
Obtain a cashier's check or money order. If you are a volunteer, the fee is $65. In any other role, the fee is $69.

-
3
Fill out the application form provided in the application packet before being fingerprinted.
-
4
Take the application form, fingerprint card, money order and return envelope to an approved fingerprinting service. An IVP requester may have fingerprints taken only at an approved police substation. A general requester may have his fingerprints taken at a police substation or a private fingerprinting service. An additional cost, ranging from $7 to $10, is applied by the fingerprinting service. Once the officer has applied your fingerprints to the fingerprint card, he will seal the card, application and your money order into the supplied envelope and mail the request packet to the fingerprint clearance card unit on your behalf.
