How to Clip Coupons for Soldiers
Clipping coupons to send to U.S. military bases overseas is one way that we can help support our troops. Military families are able to redeem manufacturers coupons and save money on groceries for up to six months past the coupon's expiration date. As an individual or group, sending coupons to soldiers gives the provider a tangible way to show appreciation to our military families.

Send manufacturers coupons Find manufacturers coupons. Manufacturers coupons appear as inserts in newspapers and magazines. Current coupons, and those that expired less than six months ago, can be used by military personnel and their families. Internet coupons and those issued by local establishments are not suitable.

Trim coupons for ease of use Clip the coupons using scissors. Avoid tearing them out or sending the whole page. Not only will properly clipping save the recipient the time of doing it, but it will lower the overall weight of the package and reduce shipping costs.

Discard very-expired coupons Check the expiration dates. Coupons that exceed the 6-month expiration deadline should be sorted out and discarded. Newer coupons are viable and should be sent.

Baby product coupons go together. Sort the coupons by kind. Use general categories such as baby, health & hygiene, non-foods, foods. This will help the commissaries receiving the coupons distribute them more quickly.

Ask the post office for instructions. Put the coupons in an envelope or box for mailing. Print the military base's commissary address on the outside. Bring the package to your local U.S. Post Office for their help in applying proper postage to assure that it arrives in a timely fashion.

You will need to complete a customs form at the post office. The dollar value of the package that you are sending should be listed at $0.00, as coupons have no monetary value prior to redemption.
