How to Install a Harley-Davidson Seat

Removing the seat from your Harley-Davidson motorcycle is fairly easy. The seat itself may be worn and need to be replaced. For Harley's manufactured before 1979, this would be the sole reason to remove the seat. For bikes manufactured after 1979, there is the issue of the Harley's battery, which is located beneath the seat, and the seat has to be removed for access. For whatever reason, once you have a seat off, putting it back on will take only a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

• Socket set
• Socket wrench

Instructions

1. Attach the front part of the seat. There is a protrusion in the Harley-Davidson's frame, and the seat is equipped with a bracket that fits over this. The seat should slide into place.

2. Place the rear seat behind the front seat. Slide the passenger strap over the rear seat.

3. Attach the back of the seat with the bolt and secure the seat to the bike. The bolt fits the same as with the old seat.
