How to Take Your Username Off Twitter Lists
Twitter is a social media network that allows its users to post status updates in the form of micro-blog posts of 140 characters or less. These updates are called tweets. The social aspect of the site entails users following each other in order to more easily read each other's tweets. Twitter allows its users to separate the Twitter feed they follow into different categories called lists. The lists that other Twitter users put you on are visible to everyone from your Twitter profile, but if your username is on lists you'd rather not be on, it's easy to take your username off anyone's Twitter list.

1
Find out what lists your username is listed on. Log in to your Twitter account and click on the "Listed" link on the right column. This will take you to a page displaying all the lists to which other Twitter users have added your username. The list names will have the syntax of "@Twitteruser/listname" with "listname" being the name of the list and "@Twitteruser" being the user that has put you on it.

2
Click on the list off of which you'd like to take your Twitter username.

3
Click on the Twitter user that created the list. This name should be visible in the upper right of the screen, hyperlinked under the heading "This list was created by." This will take you to that user's profile page.
-
4
Block the creator of the unwanted list. Click on the "block [username]" link on the right side column, or click on the widget button under their username in the white center column, and select "Block" from the drop-down menu. This will immediately take you off any and all lists to which this user has added you.
-
5
Unblock the user again, if you wish, by clicking on the "unblock" link in the right side column, or clicking on the widget below his username in the middle white column and selecting the "Unblock" option. Do this only if you'd like to unblock the user. Either way, you've removed yourself from this user's unwanted listing.

Tips & Warnings
You can also try sending the user a direct message asking him or her to take you off the specific list. This often works and does not remove you off all the lists created by that person.
Blocking a user on Twitter will remove your username from all the lists on which this user has listed it. If you'd like to remove yourself from some lists created by that user and not others, you'll have to ask to be re-added to the desired lists once you've completed these steps.
