How to Convert CFP to Dollars
ISO 4217 is an international standard which assigns three letter codes to the currencies. ISO 4217 was established by the International Organization for Standardization. The first two letters of an ISO code refers to a specific country and the third letter refers to the currency name. USD, for example, stands for the US Dollar. ISO codes for supranational currencies, such as the CFP franc and the CFA franc, begin with an "X". The currency code for CFP franc is "XPF". Knowing the ISO currency code, you can easily use online conversion tools to convert the CFP franc to U.S. dollars.

Go to a currency conversion site on the Internet. Some examples of currency conversion sites include Convert It, Coin Mill, XE, Exchange Rates, Go Currency and Bloomberg.

In the "From" drop down box, select the currency you are converting by selecting "XPF," "French Pacific Franc," "CFP franc" or "CFP".

Click on the "To" drop down box, scroll down to "USD" or "United States Dollars", then click on the U.S. dollars option.

Enter the number of XPFs that you would like to convert to U.S. dollars into the conversion box.

Tips & Warnings
CFP francs are also known as "Comptoirs Français du Pacifique Francs".
You may also call a bank and ask for the current currency exchange rate and using a calculator and the currency exchange rate convert the XPF into USD.
Do not confuse the CFP franc and the CFA franc. The CFP franc is the currency used in French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna. The ISO 4217 currency code for the CFP franc is "XPF". The CFA franc is the currency in 14 countries in Western and Central Africa. The ISO 4217 currency code for the CFA franc is "XAF".
