Glass Pendant Tutorial
Making your own jewelry is a hobby that can be used during the holiday season or for friends' birthdays and special events. Glass pendants are a jewelry piece that can be created for everyday wear or as personalized gifts for friends and family. Such pendants come in all shapes and sizes, including pendants made with pictures or patterned paper. The following tutorial uses decorative paper and glass tile to create a pendant.

1
Measure and cut a square of decorative paper 7/8 inches by 7/8 inches. If desired, you can make a 7/8 inch by 7/8 inch cardboard template that you can cut out and use as your pattern for marking and cutting the decorative paper.

Apply a generous amount of dimensional glaze with a tiny paintbrush to the back of your glass tile, or the flattest part of the tile. Coat the entire surface and add some glaze to the rounded edges of the tile before placing the square of decorative paper over the tile. Turn the tile over and push down firmly on a flat surface to remove any air bubbles. Allow it to dry.

3
Apply a large amount of glaze to the top of the decorative paper, which is now secured to the tile, making sure you glaze the corners and edges of the tile. Allow it to dry. The texture should be smooth and shiny like glass once dry.

4
Use metal-suitable glue, like industrial glue, on the back of your chosen bail, and attach it to the back of the glass tile. Allow it to dry. String a necklace chain through the bail once dry, and enjoy your new glass pendant.

Tips & Warnings
Lightly glide your brush with the glaze over the decorative paper to avoid brushstroke marks.
Use a grip seal bag or paper to avoid a sticky mess.
Glass pendants can also be made with fabric pieces or small pressed flowers, or made with sea glass as opposed to glass tile.
