How to Organize a Pocketbook

If you find yourself wasting precious time digging through your pocketbook to find essentials such as your keys, cell phone, checkbook, wallet, lipstick or other items that seemed to have disappeared into a black hole of clutter, it's time to get organized. Your pocketbook is the lifeline to both your professional and personal life, so it's vital to keep its contents in good order for quick access. Instructions

      Dump out the contents of your pocketbook onto a clean table.

      Throw out scraps of paper, tissue, unnecessary receipts, chewing gum and candy wrappers, and anything else you no longer need.

      Sort the remaining items into their own neat piles, such as loose change, checkbook, writing utensils, business cards, receipts, eyeglasses, keys, cell phone, chewing gum, make-up and any medication you require.

      Put makeup, lip balm, tissue, hand cream, chewing gum and other personal care products into a cosmetic purse or clear plastic sandwich bag.

      Place loose business cards, receipts and any coupons inside your wallet.

      Put any medication in another clear sandwich bag.

      Store your cell phone, eyeglasses and checkbook inside the pockets of your purse.

      Put loose change in a piggy bank, glass jar or in the change compartment of your wallet.

      Put all items back inside your pocketbook, which is now completely organized.
