DIY Wireless LCD Monitor for a Video Camera
There are many wireless LCD televisions and computer monitors available for use on the market, most of which are capable of connecting to several different video devices, including a video camera. Connecting a video camera to an LCD monitor allows you to view the recording content on a far bigger screen, preventing you from recording content you may not want, as it is hard to see everything on the small LCD screens built into most digital video cameras. Although the connection does require a video cable (there is no wireless adapter for a camera-to-monitor connection) the hook-up process should only take a moment or two.

Look over the digital video camera for video output connections. Typically there is one of two different kinds of connections on a digital video camera. The first is a single 3.5mm "Line-Out" port that controls both the audio and video export on the camera. The other is a yellow RCA connection. The 3.5mm export is used on smaller video cameras and most new digital camcorders.

Connect the 3.5mm end of the 3.5mm-to-RCA audio/video cable into the "Line-Out" ports on the video camera. If you have the yellow video cable connection, plug one end of the yellow RCA video cable into the port.

Insert the opposite end of the yellow cable into the "Video In" port on the rear of the monitor. If using the 3.5mm cable connection plug the red, white and yellow cables into the "Audio/Video" cable connections.

Power on the digital video camera and the LCD monitor. Select "Video" on the monitor and the content viewed by the camera is displayed on the video screen.
