Instructions

    • 1

Fill the bottom of the double boiler with water, and set a bowl on the top of the larger pot. Place the double boiler on the stove, and allow the water to come to a boil.

    • 2

Melt hard candle wax in the bowl of the double boiler completely. Once it is completely melted, allow it to cool to 160 degrees.

    • 3

Add 1 oz. of fragrance per 1 lb. of wax. Stir in the fragrance so it will be dispersed in the candle evenly.

    • 4

Add one or two drops of liquid dye and mix in so it blends completely. Check the color by using a spoon to scoop up some of the mixture, placing the scoop on wax paper and allowing it to cool and harden--this will give you the true color of the mixture. Add more dye for bolder and darker shades.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep a box of baking soda handy just in case a fire starts.

  • Never allow the candle wax to melt unattended.
