Quickly clear the record of your recent searches from the Bing, Ask.com and Dogpile search engines.

The Bing, Ask.com and Dogpile search engines each display a list of your recent searches on their results pages. This feature is intended to be helpful by allowing you easy access to frequently used queries, but it also shows your search history to anyone with access to your computer or Web browser. However, each site gives you the ability to manually delete this list of recent searches.

Instructions

  1. Bing

    • 1

      Open a Web browser window and navigate to the Bing homepage.

      Type any term in the search field and press the "Enter" key.

    • 3

      Locate the "Search History" heading in the left column on the search results page.

    • 4

      Click the "Clear All" link located below the list of search history items.

    • 5

      Click "Yes, clear all search history" on the resulting page to confirm your choice.

    Ask.com

    • 6

      Open a Web browser window and navigate to the Ask.com homepage.

    • 7

      Type any term in the search field and click the "Search" button.

    • 8

      Locate the "Search History" heading in the right column on the search results page.

    • 9

      Click the adjacent "More" link and then click "Clear History" in the resulting menu.

    Dogpile

    • 10

      Open a Web browser window and navigate to the Dogpile homepage.

      Type any term in the search field and click the "Go Fetch!" button.

    • 12

      Locate the "Recent Searches" heading in the right column on the search results page.

    • 13

      Click the "Clear All" link located below the list of search history items.
