How to Replace a Morrow Serger Cutting Blade
Over time, the blades of your Serger can become dull or break, making the machine impossible to use. This can happen when you accidentally serge over a needle, or simply because you are getting a lot of use from your machine. It may be necessary to replace the blades, but instead of shelling out for costly repair fees, you can pick up a replacement blade (which costs around $40) and do it yourself. It is much easier than you might expect.

Open the front panel of your Serger to access the blades.

Draw a diagram of the position of the blades in case you need to use it later for reference when you screw the blade back in. This is especially useful if you are replacing all the blades in one servicing.

Using a small screwdriver carefully remove the blade you would like to replace.

Position the replacement blade exactly as the broken blade was sitting when you first opened the machine. Check your diagram if you are unsure of the positioning.

Tips & Warnings
If you are replacing all the blades, be sure to replace them one at a time starting with the looper blades and then moving outwards.
It may not be necessary to replace your Serger blades. You can try to sharpen them instead using a sharpening stone. Use the same directions above for removing the blades, only sharpen and reset instead of replacing them.
Opening your Serger could affect your warranty. Be sure to contact the manufacturer with any questions you might have before attempting to do any work on your machine.
