Instructions

    • 1

Measure and cut the shower liner. For a shower pan measuring 28 inches by 54 inches, cut the liner 34 inches by 60 inches.

    • 2

Lay the liner over the concrete bed in the shower, centering it. Fold the excess liner material in each corner over in the corner and nail it to the framing with a roofing nail near the top.

    • 3

Nail the liner to each stud around the perimeter of the shower with one roofing nail near the edge of the liner. Take care not to stretch or tear the liner.

    • 4

Locate the bolts for the drain assembly and mark their location on the liner with a marker.

    • 5

Cut a small hole over the marks with a utility knife and slide the tops of the bolts through the slits.

    • 6

Cut a circle in the liner inside the bolts and remove the liner over the drain hole.

    • 7

Apply sealant on the underside of the liner in the area immediately around the drain hole and the top of the plastic plate for the drain. Place the plastic plate into position over the hole and tighten the bolts.

    • 8

Fold the liner along the perimeter of the shower over the framing and staple it to the framing.

    • 9

Vacuum the liner to remove any dirt or debris.

    • 10

Slide the shower pan into position and check for level. Add shims where necessary to level the pan.

    • 11

Drill pilot holes through the shower pan and into the studs. Attach the shower pan to the framing with galvanized screws.

    • 12

Dry-fit the new PVC trap to the drainpipe to see if they fit. Glue them together with primer and cement.

    • 13

Slide a rubber compression gasket over the PVC drain pipe. Place a wooden block over the drain pipe and hammer it down with a rubber mallet until it is flush with the drain pan.

    • 14

Install the screen to the drain hole.
