How to Install Crawl Space Ventilation
The crawl space under your home is quite useful when you want to access the insulation and piping. Since there is exposed soil in this crawl space area, moisture and humidity collect there readily. By installing crawl space ventilation with vent holes, a power intake and a mechanical ventilator, you will be able to circulate air through this space. This will help to keep the moisture and humidity levels down to reduce the risk of mold and mildew. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

1
Hold a vent up to the crawlspace wall and trace it with a pencil or mark dimensions that are designated by the vent instructions. Make sure to space the vents out throughout the crawl space, and install one for every 50 square feet of area in the crawl space. Cut the vent holes with a reciprocating if there are not holes already cut for the vents.

2
Choose an opening on one end of your crawlspace to install a power intake vent. Mount this intake vent with screws around the opening. This vent will draw fresh air into the crawl space; some vent models use a sensor to turn on only when you need it.

Go to the other end of your crawl space and mount a mechanical ventilator by an opening there. You will need one ventilator for every two intake vents you install.
-
4
Install the rest of your vent units in the holes that you cut.

5
Cover the ground in your crawlspace with polyethylene sheets. This will help to keep the moisture levels and humidity down in your crawlspace.
