How to Change Headlamps in 2006 Dodge 3500
The headlights are important safety components of your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500. Without them, driving at night or in bad weather would be both difficult and dangerous. If a headlight is damaged or broken, it should be replaced immediately. You can save money and time by performing the task yourself at home.

Open the hood and prop it up.

Remove the two bolts that hold the headlight assembly with a socket wrench.

Locate the plug on the inside of the front fender, behind the headlight assembly. Remove the plug and remove the nut through the hole with a socket wrench.

Disconnect the wire harness from the back of the headlight housing. You'll have to pull out the housing a bit and disconnect the wires by pulling them out of the connectors.

Pull out the headight housing by grabbing both sides. Pull the outer edge with slightly greater force to make the process easier.

Locate the headight bulb and disconnect the wire by unlocking the connector and pulling straight out. Rotate the bulb a quarter-turn in either direction and remove it from the housing.

Insert the new bulb. Insert the bulb assembly back into the housing and turn it until it locks into place. Reconnect the wire and lock the connector.

Push the headlight assembly back into its original location. Reconnect the wire harness to the back of the housing before you push it all the way in.

Reinstall the nut on the backside of the headlight housing through the hole in the fender with a socket wrench. Replace the plug by pushing it into the hole.

Reinstall the bolts on the front of the headlight housing with a socket wrench. Close the hood and test the new headlight bulb.

Tips & Warnings
Do not touch the new halogen bulb with bare skin. Handle the bulb by the base. Getting skin oils on the glass can reduce the bulb's lifespan.
