How to Get a SIM Card KI Number

Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards are removable memory cards that store a key (KI) number that identifies the subscriber on a network. Although this information is hard-coded to devices on some networks, the use of a removable card allows the subscriber to transfer service to another active device instantly, by placing his SIM card into another phone or device. You can retrieve the KI number for your SIM card from the printed label.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the back panel of your phone or mobile device.

    • 2

Locate the slot labeled "SIM." Press the release lever or pull the card from its slot. Consult your device's manual if you are not sure of the proper removal process.

    • 3

Look for the "KI" entry on the back of the card. It will begin with "KI:." This is your KI number.
