How to Find People From Your Family Tree for Free
They say to know where you are going you have to know where you have been. While searching out your family tree may not get you that promotion you are after or that girlfriend you desire, it is an educational way to gain some prospective on the plights and successes of your ancestors. One of the best resources for genealogy research available today is sponsored by the LDS Church and provided to the public for free.

Online courses through the Family Tree site provide a good starting point to your journey of discovery. Offered for free, these online class start with the very basic searches and go through subjects as complex as New England Land and Tax Records and US Colonial Immigration, to name a few.

The site also offers an online library of resources with emphasis on African American Family History Resources, Jewish Family History Resources and Hispanic Family History Resources. It also provides an area in Spanish.

To help you organize as you go, you can download a free genealogy and family history program called Personal Ancestral File (PAF) from the site. PAF allows you to collect, organize and share your family history and genealogy information.

Once you have gathered what you are seeking from The Family Tree site you may want to download the PAF Companion Print program. This programs offers free color charts detailing your family tree in ancestor and descendant layouts.
