How to Customize My Mark III

Instructions

1. Take a picture of your vehicle, cut out a picture from a car book or sketch a picture and load the image into a computer with an editing program. Ford Mustangs and Mustang GTs are the most commonly customized cars by Mark III.

2. Try different Mark III standard customization packages on your vehicle image or browse the Mark III customs galleries to get a visual idea of the options for your vehicle.

3. Select a custom paint or rally racing stripes decal. The customization designs change slightly each year, but the choices usually consist of rally stripes, racing flames tribal design, and top hat. Consider the extreme paint fade upgrade.

4. Choose the exterior option combination that you want installed, which can include ground effects kit, ground effects kit with wings, rear window panels, and side window louvers. The exterior can be further upgraded with an induction hood and lower side body scoops.

5. Arrange for your vehicle to have the Mark III Customs dual exhaust installed and the racing tires and rims upgrade.

6. Choose a complimentary color for a full leather interior leather upgrade. Consider customized head rests and customized floor mats. Headrests and mats can be ordered with customized logos, messages and images.

7. Overhaul the standard sound system to a customized sound system with a navigation system and CD player or satellite radio combination. Select a system with an appearance and light colors that complement your vehicle's exterior and interior paint scheme. Have a professional remove the standard unit and install the upgrade.

8. Hire a professional to install custom tint, mirror tint, limo tint or customized decals on your windows. Tint will reduce the temperature of the interior of the car when the weather is hot and reduce sun damage to the leather interior.

• Rally stripes can be applied to a convertible.

• Keep all receipts and records of the upgrades to your vehicle. Many upgrades have warranties. For instance, Mark III custom paint applied in 2010 has a five year warranty.

• Remember that example paint schemes in pictures may appear lighter or darker on your vehicle than in the images. Try to see an example of the custom paint on a vehicle in natural lighting to help you make the decision.
