How to Make a Pipe Out of Household Objects
Aluminum foil
Thick permanent marker
Scissors
Thumb tack
Things You'll Need
- Most smokers don't travel far without all of their smoking utensils. There are times, however, when you might misplace your pipe or run out of rolling papers. If this happens, don't fret, look around your home for some common household objects that you can use to make a homemade pipe. It may not taste the same as smoke from a corn cob pipe, but it will suffice.
Instructions

-
1
Cut a portion of foil 6 inches long. The width will be the same as the roll the foil came in.
-
2
Lay the tin foil on a flat working surface with the shiny side facing down.
-
-
3
Fold the two longer edges toward the center of the foil by 2 inches.
-
4
Turn the foil so one of the narrow edges is towards you. Begin rolling the foil onto a thick permanent marker.
-
5
Keep rolling the tin foil onto the marker as tightly as possible until you reach the end of the foil.
-
6
Squeeze and twist foil on the narrower end of the marker to secure what will be the mouth piece of the pipe.
-
7
Pull the marker out of the foil cylinder. Be careful not to misshape the pipe as you do so.
-
8
Cut a separate 1-inch tin foil square and poke several holes in it with a thumb tack. This will be a screen for the bowl of your pipe.
-
9
Shape the square into a smaller bowl by forming it around the tip of your finger.
-
10
Return to the tin foil pipe and bend one inch of the wider end up. The bent piece should not be perpendicular with the pipe but should set at a slight angle so that the smoke can travel down the pipe. The bent portion will be the bowl, where you will put your tobacco.
-
11
Insert your foil screen into the bowl.
