Do It Yourself: Install Rain Gutter Guards
Gutter guards are specially designed long, narrow sheets of plastic, vinyl or mesh that go on top of a home's gutter. The gutter guard allows water to flow into the gutter but is intended to prevent leaves or other debris from collecting within the gutter trough. Although installing gutter guards may not guarantee you will not have to clean your gutters again, manufacturers claim they reduce the frequency of cleanings. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Raise an extension ladder to your roof line at the end of the gutter.
-
2
Carefully climb the ladder to the roof line. You do not need to climb onto your roof to install the gutter guards.

Clear the gutter of debris.

Starting from the end of the gutter, overlay the gutter guard onto the top of the gutter by sliding it under the first shingle, then gently press down on the edges of the guard to firmly push it in place. Some models require you to screw them in place as well.

Unroll the gutter guard along the length of the gutter and secure it in the same manner. You will need to descend the ladder and move it periodically during this process.
