How to Merge Screensavers
Screensaver files (.SCR) are executed by the main screensaver subsystem file (Scrnsave.exe) in the Windows system directory. This file reads the instructions and data contained in the screensaver, which causes the images and animations to display on your screen. If you download a screensaver file, Windows will not recognize the file as a screensaver until you merge it with the subsystem file. This process tells the main executable where the screensaver is located and adds it to the list of available screensavers in the Windows personalization menu.
