How Do I Configure a SonicWall DMZ?

Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) enables a specific computer or interface to have full access to anything a router sends to the DMZ without a network address translator (NAT) or firewall interference. A DMZ becomes a useful tool when you run an FTP or HTTP server. SonicWall routers contain DMZ settings inside of its interface network settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your web browser, write your SonicWall router's HTTP address into the address bar and then click "Enter." Enter your username and admin password if prompted.

    • 2

Click "Network" and then open the "Interfaces" settings page in the Management UI.

    • 3

Look for a pencil icon on your Ethernet adapter. Click the icon to configure your Ethernet adapter.

    • 4

Click "DMZ" in the "Zone" drop-down list and then select "Static" in the "IP Assignment" drop-down list. Type your IP address under "IP Address." Type the subnet mask of your computer under "Subnet Mask."

    • 5

Select the servers you want to allow access to in the SonicWall DMZ in "Management."

    • 6

Click "OK" to configure a SonicWall DMZ.
