My XP Pro CD Won't Boot
If you are trying to install or repair Windows XP, then you will need to boot from the CD. If your Windows XP Pro CD doesn't boot, then you must change the boot order in the BIOS. Once you have set the CD-ROM as the first boot option, you will be able to boot from the Windows XP Pro CD-Rom.

Restart your computer. Press the specified key to enter BIOS as your computer starts up. The specified key to use--typically "Esc," "F1," "F2" or "DEL"--will flash on screen.

Navigate, using the right and left arrow keys, to the "Boot" options.

Move the "CD-ROM Drive" selection to the first boot option. Typically, items can be moved using the "+" and "-" keys.

Press "F10" to "Save and Exit." Confirm your changes.

Tips & Warnings
In Step 4, "F10" is the usual key to "Save and Exit," but it might be a different key on your computer. There will be a note along the bottom of BIOS informing you of which key to press.
Following Step 4, the computer will restart, and you will be able to boot from the Windows XP Pro CD.
