If you prefer to use your Apple iPhone for navigation however, the TomTom iPhone application makes it possible to combine the iPhone with the popular GPS system. The TomTom app works alongside the iPhone's Maps system, of which the 3G version and up comes installed with a GPS system.

Open the App Store on your iPhone, located on the home screen.

Tips & Warnings
On original iPhones, the TomTom car kit is required to provide turn-by-turn directions. The iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4G models do not require the car kit because they have built-in GPS functionality.
If you have the "Automatically Sync New Apps" button checked in the "Apps" tab of Step 10, your TomTom app should automatically copy to your iPhone.
