Instructions

  1. Predator 90 Engine Stalls, Misfires Or Won't Start

    • 1

Inspect the fuel gauge and make sure there is enough gas in the ATV. If out of gas refuel and restart the engine. Check the fuel lines as well because they can often become bent and blocked.

    • 2

Drain the fuel system. Occasionally water can enter the fuel tank and prohibit the Predator 90 from starting. Check to make sure the fuel valve is also turned on and the fuel filter is clean.

    • 3

Check the spark plugs if you have owned and operated the ATV consistently for more than a year. Replace the spark plugs or bring it to a Polaris service center for replacement if you do not understand how to change them. Ignition connection can also be loose as well and it is recommended that you check the connections and tighten if necessary. Bad spark plugs can also cause the engine to backfire.

    • 4

Recharge the battery if the voltage gauge is low. This means the battery is dead and needs to be recharged.

    • 5

Change the air filter because debris and dirt can clog the filter and prevent the engine from starting.
