1
Start with a basket or box. Your winter care packaging will be determined by how far it has to travel. For example, if the care package is just being taken to a neighbor, a simple basket or decorative bag will do just fine. However, if it is to be sent through the mail, then a sturdy box is ideal.

2
Add decorations. For boxed winter care packages, you can line the box with colorful tissue paper. Baskets or bags can be decorated with colorful tissue paper, shredded paper or a simple bow on top.

Place the large items in first. Larger items such as blankets, scarves, socks or sweaters can be rolled and secured with a pretty ribbon and those should go in first. These items are ideal for winter care packages because they will help warm up the person who you are sending the package to, during these cold months.

Add the smaller items. Smaller items that are perfect for winter care packages are home baked goodies, holiday decorations such as small ornaments or anything else you think the recipient would enjoy. Try wrapping baked goods individually for your care package to assure that your goodies arrive fresh and safe.

Add personal touches. Photos, well wishes or a handwritten note go a long way to create a heartfelt finish to your special package.
