How to Finely Grind Celtic Sea Salt

Instructions

1. Place Celtic sea salt in mortar (bowl), filling it less than halfway.

2. Hold the mortar firmly in place. Grind the sea salt by applying moderate friction with the pestle in a circular motion.

3. Turn the mortar during the process of grinding to make sure you have ground all of the salt with even consistency.

4. Grind for at least one minute or until the sea salt is crushed to your desired consistency.

Tips & Warnings

• Electric salt grinders can be used to finely grind sea salt. However, the flavor is much better preserved with the use of a mortar and pestle.

• Make sure to keep an eye on the consistency of the salt as you grind because salt can be pulverized to a dust-like quality if grinding is overdone.

• Make sure to place mortar on a sturdy, non-slip surface.
