Neiko Torque Wrench Instructions
Torque wrenches allow you to accurately tighten bolts without applying excessive force. The standard torque wrench is a micrometer, or adjustable, tool. The Neiko torque wrench uses a combination of springs, pins and nuts to accurately gauge the torque. The inner spring applies pressure to the arm of the wrench, which slips free and makes a click sound when the level of torque is reached. Using a Neiko torque wrench requires setting the proper torque and locking it in place.

1
Loosen the adjustment screw on the base of the torque wrench by spinning the nut a few times counterclockwise.
-
2
Spin the dial until the upper edge of the handle is flush with the markings on the bar showing the proper level of torque. The numbers for the amount of torque sit higher on the bar than the actual markings. Follow the markings to make sure the handle is flush with the marks, not the actual number.

3
Tighten the adjustment screw.
-
4
Attach the wrench to the bolt and apply soft strokes until the torque clicks. You may not hear the click so keep a hand on the handle and a hand on the bar. The click is the impact of the head to the inside of the bar. You will either feel or hear the click.
