How to Install Broken Mosaic Tile Floors
Mosaic tile is a way to add style to your floors. Mosaics can be created from a variety of media. You can use small pebbles, tiles or broken pieces of almost anything. Old dishes, mismatched tiles and even pieces of marble scrap can be used to create mosaic tiles. The tiles can be arranged in any pattern to create a one-of-kind design. Things You'll Need
- Hammer
- Mosaic materials
- Table
- Tile adhesive
- Trowel
- Grout
- Grout float
- Sponge

Break the material into pieces with a hammer. Make the pieces as small or as large as you like according to the design you have chosen. Create enough mosaic material to cover the floor.

Spread ¼ inch of tile adhesive across the floor with a trowel.

Place the pieces lightly in the adhesive. Move and adjust the materials until you have them placed exactly where you want them. Go back to each piece and press it firmly into the adhesive. Allow the adhesive to dry completely.

Scoop grout onto a grout float. Spread the grout across the floor, letting the grout sink between the tiles. Move the float across the tiles, compacting the grout between the tiles and eliminating air bubbles. Allow the grout to set for 20 to 30 minutes.

Dip a tile sponge into water. Wipe the floors to remove excess grout from the tops of the tiles. Rinse your sponge frequently. Let the grout dry overnight.
