How to Make an Emblem for an RO

How to Make an Emblem for an RO thumbnail
Emblems on RO must be in bitmap format and 24 by 24 pixels.

Making your own customized guild emblem can help you ensure that your Ragnorak Online (RO) guild looks how you want it to look. RO is a massive multiplayer online role playing game where users create their own characters and go on adventures, often as a guild. The Ragnorak Online world is inspired by Norse mythology and has 3-D graphics to help you become immersed in the fictional world.

Instructions

    • 1

Start up your image editor program. A lot of people use Paint to create their emblem, because it is included on all Windows operating systems. You can download or purchase other programs if you wish to have a more professional looking logo. Programs like Adobe Photoshop and Serif PhotoPlus will do a more professional-looking job, if that is a priority.

    • 2

Choose an image you want to feature in your emblem. You can draw an image yourself if you wish, by using the paintbrush or pencil icons on your image editing software's toolbar. If you find a photograph, you may have to choose one small part of it. Emblems are only small, so complex images can easily be lost in translation.

    • 3

Copy your desired image and paste it into your image editing software. If you need to select a portion of your image, do so using the drag-box selecting tool on your software. These are generally shown by a rectangle made up of dotted lines. Paste the section onto a fresh canvas.

    • 4

Edit the image's size so it measures 24 by 24 in pixels. This is the designated size for the emblems on Ragnorak, and can be easily set on image editing programs. On Paint, click "Resize," under the "Image" section of the toolbar (under the "Home" tab). Then click the radio button to the right hand side of the window marked "Pixels" and type the values into the two fields directly underneath. Click "OK" to resize your image. It now is a suitable emblem.

    • 5

Use color "FF00FF" for any patches you wish to be transparent. This is the HTML code for the color that appears as transparent on Ragnorak. See Resources for a color chart, but the color is a bright pink. It looks garish during the design stages if your color scheme doesn't match, but it can be used to add invisible space between relevant sections of your emblem.

    • 6

Add text to the emblem if desired. This would be a good place to identify your guild. Full guild names are unlikely to be legible in such a small image, but initials or a contraction will do the job.

    • 7

Save the file as a bitmap (.bmp). This is the required file format for guild emblems on Ragnorak Online, and it is supported by most image editors.
